A lazy Sunday evening, when you just feel like taking a day off from all the chores and dedicate that day just for you and your leisure time, no cleaning of house, no washing of clothes, just relaxing on a couch like a potato and spending quality time in doing just nothing.
And suddenly you get to know that few guests are coming over to your place, Ouch! such news hurt quite a too much right? and especially when your house is in a “Just-for-me-to-see” condition, it hurts and pains even more.
But we have these few hacks which will make the influx of your anxiety hormones take a back seat and your living room is ready for the unexpected situation in less than 10 minutes.
1. Arrange and beautify the seating area
The first thing you need to do is make a proper space for the guests to seat in. Arrange your sofas, tables, and place some nice cushions in order to make the room look nice. Place some nice flowers ( if you have it at your home) in a vase and then you are good to go.
2. Dust away!
The next thing you need to do is to make sure that layers of dust is not visible to the naked eye and by that I mean literally ‘naked eyes’ only. You just need to dust away the dust which is there on the superficial level of things, don’t need to go deep in there because then it might take a lot of time but when you are running short of time, I think it is fine to follow a shortcut in dusting especially, when there are unexpected guests coming over on a lazy day! phew!
3. Satisfy your olfactory indicators!
Who would like a dingy and a dull room? Even when you escape from dust and untidiness , a smelly room can take away all your brownie points, so open the windows, draw out the curtain and let some fresh air and light come in . Also, a room freshener can work wonders in this case. This can turn the whole atmosphere of the place and make it much more refreshing and staying like.
4. Collect and transfer!
Now, there’s a need for speed, All the newspapers, magazines , unwanted papers , extra clothes , utensils, footwear and everything which is not needed in the room and you certainly don’t want your guests to get introduced to them , collect and transfer. Pick up all those things and for the time being transfer them to a different room and you are good to go.
So, to deal with unexpected guests at home these hacks would help you make your living room ready in less than 10 minutes, and you know what , ‘kisi-ko-pata-bhi-nai-chalega’
