Couple Got Married Wearing T-Shirts And Jeans

When a couple has to plan their wedding, the first thing that comes to their mind is the big-budget they might need for their wedding. Well, it is not true that every wedding has to be a big fat one. A couple has proved that there can be simple and low budget weddings.

A happy couple ditched wedding gown and tuxedo and tied their wedding knot wearing simple jeans and t-shirts. The couple proved that the wedding needs not to be an expensive fair and that the couple getting married need not to stress about things that won’t even matter in the future. The most important thing that should be there in a wedding is love, faith, loyalty and understanding between the two people getting married.

Rebecca Maxwell, 26, from Northumberland wore black jeans with a white t-shirt which had ‘bride’ written on it with a pair of white converse shoes. While the groom Glen Maxwell, 30, wore a black t-shirt with the ‘groom’ written on it with black jeans and trainers.

Though initially, they were planning a big fat wedding as explained by Rebecca. She shared “Our guest list was getting out of hand. You feel like you have to invite people because you don’t want to upset them rather than because you want them there. We had spent hours looking through Pinterest at all the dresses, cakes and decorations and you do get sucked in. But at the end of the day, Glen and I just really weren’t bothered about all of that.”

The newlyweds already have a nine-months-old daughter Eleanor and were engaged back in August 2016. Since then they were planning for an extravagant wedding. While looking at all the decorations, gowns and tuxedo on Pinterest the couple lost the main reason for getting married. They forgot that they were marrying each other because they love each other and want to spend the rest of their lives together. An extravagant wedding won’t assure that but their bond will.

Rebecca added “I had even bought a wedding dress but after having Eleanor I went to try it on again and I ended up crying. It just was not what I wanted at all. Glen made a flippant comment, saying: ‘We could get married in jeans and t-shirts and I’d still love you’ and that was that.”
Rebecca, a GCSE, and A-Level tutor, and Glen, who works in security, just want each other’s company. They don’t like big and flashy things. All they want each other’s company and love. They thus ditched the plan for a big wedding and ended up marrying wearing comfortable clothes. The pictures shared by the couple tells that ‘as long as you marry the person you love, surrounded by people you love, your day will be special’.

Rebecca further added “What was special was that we were going to join together and I was going to have the same surname as my little girl. A big dress or fancy day, that all paled into insignificance. I want to show other brides that if they don’t have a big budget, it doesn’t matter. They don’t have to spend a fortune or put all that pressure on themselves.” Rebecca concluded that your wedding ‘should be about how in love you are.’
