Divorce Cakes – Trending Now
Hundreds of satisfied (and often spiteful) men and women from around the world have taken to Instagram to proudly share snaps of cakes made to celebrate the end of a marriage.
Has this become the latest way to express your feelings towards an ex-spouse? The trend sure seems to be catching fast on!
Recently, a baker shared a photo of her ‘very first divorce cake’ which showed a male wedding topper pushing his bride off the top and onto the ground. ‘It’s not me…it’s you!’ She captioned the image.
The debate continues to grow whether this is the healthy thing to do. The divorce is bound to leave behind bitter feelings. And this seems to be a rather ‘sweet’ and harmless way to express yourself.
But at the same time, people argue the fact that moving on without much drama is much more healthier. As this might cast a bad image on the ex-spouse.
‘Celebrating our coworkers release #chainhasbeenbroken,’ one woman wrote. ‘Slightly inappropriate but so delicious…,’ said another.
In another image, a cake was topped with a bride with boxing gloves on, punching her groom in the face and completed with blood red icing dripping down the sides.
Another popular theme in the divorce cakes section is the trash or garbage type. Cakes with brides ‘taking out the trash’ have also gained a lot of attention!
‘Here’s to celebrating moving on!’ A woman captioned the image.
‘I do, I did, I’m done,’ was a message commonly written on the top of the divorce cakes, followed by ‘newly unwed.’
‘Because when things are that bad & your divorce papers arrive, celebration is a must!’ One woman wrote next to her cake, which was topped with a doll holding a sign saying ‘finally I’m free’ and divorce papers.
While bitter brides appear to be the most likely to celebrate with a cake, men have also jumped on board the trend. ‘Unhitched from the witch,’ one cake read, which was iced with a picture of a witch flying into the starry night.
This yummy new trend has been on the rise and has been benefiting the bakers. A baker claimed that this new trend had seen a turn up of a lot of orders asking for these special ‘divorce cakes.’ At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what it takes, getting smashed or getting these divorce cakes made, all one wants is to move on!
