Pregnant Woman Shares A Powerful Message For Black Lives

Following the case of George Floyd, ‘Black Lives Matter’ has become a movement. Starting from the United States the movement has got support from all across the globe. People want justice against systemic racism in the United States. One pregnant woman shared an emotional and heartbreaking message with everyone that has caught the eyes of many people.

Thema, a 26-year-old pregnant woman made a sign while protesting in the ‘Black Lives Matter’ protest and shared it on her Instagram profile. With a different message, she touched the hearts of millions and brought everyone face to face with the heartbreaking reality.

The sign had a message which said “We are NOT carrying for 9 months. Then struggling during labor for 9 hours just for you to kneel on their neck for 9 minutes!! Black Lives Matter.” She further wrote what she felt. She wrote that ‘I said what I said.’ But the post does not end here. She shared that the video shared on which Derek Chauvin was kneeling on Geroge’s neck has brought back the harsh reality.

While she has been protesting for the day with the video embedded in her mind, she will not stop until justice is delivered. She shared that when in pain George summoned his mother, not only his but all the mothers around the world were summoned to witness the cruelty. The mother of two has vowed to make this place a better place to live in and to ensure that her children are protected at all costs.

She wrote: “It is every mother’s worst fear to get that call. It genuinely angered me just to know that we carry these babies, these black men in our wombs for nine months, experiencing troubles the entire time such as excessive vomiting, weight loss, weight gain, hair loss, kidney swelling and that is just the tip of the iceberg. Eight minutes and 46 seconds to be exact with no remorse or hesitation! That alone called me to the front line to stand up for our children. Enough is enough. New laws need to be in place and true justice needs to be served!”

The mother of two and now pregnant with the third child did not hesitate to step on the streets to protest for ‘Black Lives Matter’. She has been in the protest for days now and has not slept for days. She joined the protests in Washington D.C. on Wednesday with the group Freedom Fighters D.C. she wants to stand up not only for the precious lives that we have lost but for the lives that will be born in the future as well.

She wants to ensure that not only her children are protected at all costs but the children of all the mothers who have sacrificed so much for their children breathe and live. And by living it is not meant by living in constant fear but to leave happily and peacefully. Without fear of losing one’s life because of the color of the skin is a tone or two darker than others. The color of the skin might be darker but we all bleed the same.
