In such, jobs being an introvert is beneficial but being friendly can apparently get you kicked off the job. And that isn’t limited to the humans only, the condition applies on dogs as well. Meet Gavel, the German shepherd who was fired from a job as a police dog for being too friendly!


Gavel entered the police dog training program at Queensland Government house last year but he was considered too affectionate and warm for the job. As the police put it, he did not display the necessary aptitude for a life on the front line. It was as simple as that; he loved meeting new people and socializing and ended up befriending more people than he was required to.

He preferred a belly rub over chasing the criminals or sniffing for evidence.


As a result, his job at the police department ended rather too quickly as he was soon sacked. And so, after months of training, his career in law enforcement was over. But don’t get disheartened because the adorable pooch found a new job within a very short period of time, unlike many of us fail to find.
