Ever since the COVID-19 has struck the nations across the globe, it has made face masks one of the essential commodities for everyone. It is a known fact that wearing face masks in public places helps to prevent coronavirus but some people have still not adapted to using them. A firm has attempted to tackle the situation with unusual new space helmet face masks but the internet has divided opinion.
A firm known by the name of Microclimate has come up with an unusual looking face mask that looks like a space helmet that fits around your head.
Microclimate on its Facebook page described the helmet as a ‘new wearable technology that creates a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment for individuals. The device also protects surrounding bystanders from the person wearing the device.’
Designed for travel, AIR by MicroClimate.com is a new wearable technology. From Uber to train, shuttle bus to airline, AIR will keep you comfortable the whole trip.
These helmets are equipped with a ventilation system that uses high-powered fans to pull air through filters in the mask and the air remains fresh and fog-free so users won’t feel short of breath while wearing them.
The company has mentioned on its website that the helmets also come equipped with padding and a washable cloth neck seal which will keep the user’s journeys comfortable, no matter where they are heading.
Now, this unusual invention has divided the internet. While some people are questioning that why would anyone want to walk around looking like an astronaut 24/7, some people feel that the helmets have a whole appeal.
One person tweeted, “Air MicroClimate: practical solutions for the second wave executive.”
A user wrote that he doesn’t know how to feel anymore.
One of the users mocked the product by saying that it is unbelievable that people would pay $200 to put a glorified sock over their heads.
Another user joked that the real beauty of the microclimate air helmet is that it allows businessmen to fart freely with zero repercussions.
Apparently, these masks didn’t come out as a result of the ongoing global health crisis, but because of how restrictive entrepreneur Michael Hall found skiing equipment.
According to the company’s website, Hall ‘envisioned a new kind of wearable that would create a “micro climate” around the head’ – and that is how The Air was born.
The microclimate air helmet weighs around 2 tonnes and includes two size cushion liners. It has removable washable fabric and HEPA filters. In addition to this, it has more than 4 hours of battery life and comes with a USB-C cable for charging. It works well with AirPods. The package contains a carrying case along with a microfiber cloth for cleaning the helmet.
