Wife Pens A Funny Yet Sweet Obituary For Late Husband

The couple Crystal Sauser and Eric Sauser was from Omaha, Nebraska. They were parents to three children named as Amelia, Violet and Benjamin. Father Eric, who was battling with leukemia, died after two years of getting diagnosed for it. Crystal Sauser was left devastated and heartbroken, after losing her husband to a long two-year fight with cancer. Just like many loved ones who are left behind, Crystal was tasked with writing an obituary to memorialize her 43-year-old husband and the father of their three kids, Eric Sauser.

Sauser wrote Eric’s notice of death and it was published in the local paper. It was even shared across social media. Although Crystal was grief stricken, she didn’t want to reflect that in the obituary and so she conveyed her grief into a funny and heart touching obituary to honor her late husband. The notice was written in hopes to capture his husband’s legacy and to leave a lasting impact. As the obituary was also shared online, it quickly went viral.

Sauser penned it down so well that both the emotions of grief and laughter emerged as one read it. The obituary begun with the words, “Eric A. Sauser, AKA Super Dad, Aka Easy, just rockin’ dude from Omaha, NE passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, February 26, 2021, at the age of 43 with his wife by his side.” She added saying that Eric survived by his wife, Crystal, and children, Amelia, Violet and Benjamin, all of whom were planning to sleep in the same bed for many years to come!

Sauser described her husband saying that he had many friends. He was such a loving and caring person. He loved her, his talented children, his family and all his friends. After all this, he used to love the Boston Red Sox, the Kansas City Chiefs, the Huskers, Liverpool Futbol, QT iced tea, Adidas sneakers, fishing, backpacking, hiking, hunting, and any old Chevy he saw on the road. All of these things were loved by Eric in the very same order as mentioned!

Adding more humor to the notice, Sauser said that Eric died either because of leukemia or because of him being so stunning! As the notice was circulated widely on social media, Sauser said her husband would be glad to see that it is giving people happiness! A local Omaha World-Herald reporter found it so heart touching that he even shared the obituary via his account. He said that he usually highlights stories written by OWH news reporters but that obituary was a must read.

Sauser said that since her husband was diagnosed of leukemia, which happened more than two years ago, it was shocking but Eric handled his illness gracefully. Crystal was sad because she had a broken heart, but she wasn’t sad at the same time because they couldn’t win their journey.
