A woman named Chastity Patterson was going through a rough phase as she lost her father to the gloomy fate. To shed her pain, she continued to send messages to the phone number of her departed father for four years. Then a man named Brad replied to her with a heart-touching message.
Parents are an epitome of unconditional love and care. They toil hard to nurture their blooming little nuggets. Thus, they form an inseparable part of their life. But fate is not loyal to anyone. It ends up snatching them from the little souls. One of these unfortunate souls is Chastity Patterson. She lost her father.
The pain of separation was unbearable for her. She toiled hard to take over it but in vain. In the end, she tried to relieve her pain by texting her moments of life to her dad’s number. She did not think about the possibility of someone owning that number after her father. To her delight, that worked! She managed to shed out some of her pain. Thus, she ended up texting to her dad’s number for 4 years.
Through her messages, she shared the episodes of her daily life. Her achievements and failures too made their way to her description of the phases of her life. Not just that but also she revealed the moments of her heartbreaks and relationships in her messages. Her battle with life choking cancer also featured in her message list. She also shared her happiness on finishing her college. It was going down a smooth trail but then came a shocking revelation.
I text my dad everyday to let him know how my day goes, for the past Four years! Today was my sign that everything is okay and I can let him rest! ❤️ Jason Ligons
A man named Brad texted her back through her dad’s number. He revealed, “I am not your father but I have been getting all your messages for the past four years”. Taking his message ahead, he said that his name was Brad and he had lost his daughter in a car wreck in August 2014. Pouring out his pearls of sorrow, he said that her message had kept him alive.
Taking on that part, he shared that he knew it was a message from God when she texted him. Adding to that, he said that he was sorry she had lost someone so close to her, but he had listened to her for years. He had watched her grew more than anyone. Then he said that he had wanted to text her back for years. But he had not wanted to break her heart.
Then he added some pearls of charm in his message by saying that he had wished his daughter could have grown up to become the woman she was and had called her extraordinary. Adding to that, he said that her updates reminded him there was a God and that it was not his fault his daughter was gone.
He finished his letter on a motivational note. He said, “I’m sorry you have to go through this, but if it makes it any better, I am very proud of you!”
Brad’s message managed to win many hearts across the globe. Hopefully, his words would have added to the strength of 23-year-old Chastity.
